About Me
Farah employs CBT, DBT, and play therapy to help kids. She works to give children a supportive space where they can grow and be recognized for their strengths. She helps clients understand themselves while feeling part of a group. Farah uses specific, proven methods tailored to each client’s current situation. She supports kids in expressing their feelings, challenging stereotypes, and developing a strong sense of self. She works on overcoming obstacles and values attributes like confidence, community, and belonging. Farah sees clients aged 6+, both in-person and online, encouraging compassion, creativity, and personal growth.
Farah brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her work, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Michigan-Flint and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Wayne State University. She specializes in supporting children and adolescents through the complexities of ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, and trauma, bringing both expertise and empathy to her practice.
Farah’s commitment extends beyond the therapy room; she’s deeply involved in both Flint and Metro Detroit, where she actively champions mental health initiatives. She understands that each community has its own unique challenges and cultural nuances, and she tailors her support accordingly, ensuring that her services resonate with the diverse populations she serves.
In her personal life, Farah finds joy in creating art, volunteering her time to causes she believes in, and cherishing moments with friends and family. Her proficiency in Urdu not only reflects her cultural roots but also enhances her ability to connect with and serve a broader demographic.
Farah is a therapist who not only has the academic credentials but also a deep-seated commitment to community well-being. Her work is a testament to her belief in the healing power of understanding, cultural respect, and personalized care.
