Confused by Insurance? Let’s Decode What It All Means Together!
- A deductible is the amount you pay for health care services before your health insurance begins to pay. [Example of How it Works: If your plan’s deductible is $1,500, you’ll pay 100 percent of eligible health care expenses until the bills total $1,500. After that, you share the cost with your plan by paying either a copay or coinsurance] This means that you will pay the full insurance rate to Bright Pine Behavioral Health until the deductible is met. Once the deductible is met, you will either owe a small portion (e.g., copay/coinsurance) or nothing (if your out-of-pocket maximum is reached).
- If your deductible is currently met or if the deductible does not apply to your plan, your carrier should cover a portion, leaving you responsible for the copay or coinsurance amount dictated by your carrier’s contract. Please note that we have no control over rates. These are exclusively set by your carrier.
